Shelli’s Hearty, Healthy Homemade Cookies

Once you try these cookies, you won’t settle for less!  

In this session, I will show you how to make these hearty, healthy homemade cookies – they are low in sugar, but you can’t tell the difference and they are very filling!  Parents encouraged to participate with young students.

 

Ingredients:  
2 sticks of butter or margarine
dash of cinnamon
dash of baking soda
dash of vanilla extract
1/2 cup of brown sugar
2 eggs
1.5 cups of unbleached flour
3 cups of raw oatmeal (not instant)
1/2 bag of semi sweet or dark chocolate chips
3/4 cup of whole raw unsalted almonds (chopped)
Other items needed:
A large mixing bowl
A spoon
Measuring cups (1/2 cup and 1 cup)
A Cookie sheet
A cutting board
A wooden spoon
