American Sign Language

In this class participants will explore Deaf culture, disability justice and learn basic gestures, Alphabet, numbers and basic vocabulary along with some language tips.
By the end of our time together participants will be able to spell their name, offer a greeting and build a simple sentence .

Kenya Budd

Kenya Budd enjoyed a 6 year long career as a student life specialist at the Colorado School for the Deaf and Blind. She went on to serve as a school interpreter for high school students in advanced placement classes. Kenya received her Special Education Bachelor’s degree with a Deaf Ed/ASL endorsement from the University of Maryland. Kenya completed her Education in Law and Social Justice degree at Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon where she lives with her two children and French bulldog, Leo.

Ashantay graduated from the School for the Deaf last year and will co-lead the class with Kenya Budd
